Pike season will run from 1st October to 31st March.

Single hooks only (not multiple hooks on one line, or doubles or trebles).

Lures and spinners are accepted

Frozen dead bait and sea fish is accepted (no fresh water dead bait from other waters)

Live bait can be used if caught from our waters. (the pike would eat them in any case so you are welcome to use silvers caught from our lakes)

Bait: Pike can be caught with dead fish, which they locate by smell. For this technique, fat marine fish like herring, sardines and mackerel are considered the best.

Unhooking Pike: Since they have very sharp and numerous teeth, care is required in unhooking a pike. Single hooks are specified when angling for Pike on our Lakes, as they simplify unhooking. This is undertaken using long forceps, with 30-cm artery clamps the ideal tool. When holding the pike from below on the lower jaw, it will open its mouth. It should be kept out of the water for the minimum amount of time possible, and should be given extra time to recover if being weighed and photographed before release.

We rarely introduce new fish into the lakes. We rely on spawning to replenish and enhance the stock. Most of our specimen fish have been in the waters for over 20 years.

Our fish are irreplaceable so the rules are strict and we enforce them rigorously.

Thank you for respecting our fish and fishery.
