Top Lake
Regarded as the specimen lake on-site, the Top Lake is a popular venue for anglers wanting to catch a personal best, and who are up for the challenge as the carp run to over 30lb and the impressive pike to over 20lb!
At 2.5 acres in size and with no less than 19 swims, the Top Lake is long in shape, rich in vegetation and with several islands in the middle has a wonderful sense of privacy whilst providing an array of features to target. With both near and far margins, bays, reedbeds gravel bars and deep holes to target it is easy to see why the fish have flourished and grown to specimen weights.
Diverse and interesting, each swim has a totally different feel, with a mixture of depths from 2ft to over 8ft in places, it pays for the angler to take time in their approach and explore their water thoroughly. With a good stock of carp present approximately 60-70 that are currently over 15lb, there are both Commons and Mirrors to target. With many fish in the 20lb bracket, with several over 30lb this is one carp venue where a real red-letter session may be on the cards.
For the Pike anglers amongst you, there is a healthy stock of clean, long fish to go at, and with the lake record set at over 25lb this is one venue that will test your skill but offers the chance to catch a real specimen. Fishing with smaller baits such as 12mm boilies and a bright yellow hook bait, will often outwit these pressured carp and by feeding little and often you can really get a spot going.
